In Cumbuco you can go kitesurfing almost everyday of the year. The best months are from June to January, during this time there is enough wind almost every day.
That’s why Cumbuco is the perfect place to go to for kitesurfing.
Kitespots in the surrounding area:
350 km of beach! There are many good spots around! We would recommend everyone to rent a car, beacause it would be a pitty if you didn’t get to see those great spots for kitesurfing.
Cauipé Lagune
The lagoon of Cauipé is in the direct surroundings of Cumbuco. You get to a 1km long and 300m wide sweetwater lake within 15 minutes. The lake isn’t very deep.
Lagoa do Taiba
A small beautiful shallow water lake in the middle of nowhere. A small cabin and sand dunes surround this nice spot.
Pecem
A wavy spot for beginners and intermediates, not that easy to find in other areas. On the evenings you share this spot with a view windsurfers, but kiting at sunset is such an onetime experience that you shouldn’t miss it.
Paracuru
Paracuru is in everyones mouth! When the tide is out you can stand at a wide area and in the back waves get to a heigth of 2 meters. This mixture makes the spot special. Even in the standing area the offshoots of the waves make being there an adventure. There is also a restaurant at the spot – recomended also as a possibility to store luggage and to use the bathroom.
Mundaú
A special setting! A river mouth framed with palm trees makes everyone want to go there. An absolute must see! For explorers it’s worth going to Lagoinha and Flecheiras.

There is a kite rental at this spot. So if you don’t have a kite, there is a possibility to rent kites in Cumbuco. There you can rent a complete set of Kite, Bar, Board and Harness or any additional helms and vests. Of course there is a kite store as well where you can buy any needed supplies. Its not really cheap though. Kite repair is also on the spot, but we recommend bringing a second set of strings, tubes, finns and screws.
